Amidst the Inanimate: The White Series.

My first stop will be in Seattle, a city which I've traveled to before. My time spent there in the past has always left me enamored with the city and not wanting to leave. There’s a lot of city to discover in Seattle and I’m sure my passion for Street Photography will be more than satiated.

That being said I have a little more than a month before I leave and it all hasn't really hit home yet. I know the objective and the course is plotted but it still seems distant. Things are slowly beginning to disappear from my apartment. A desk. A few bookshelves. An image. There's a lot left though. My cat, Tom, will be the hardest to part with. Over the last two years we've formed a pretty strong bond and I think it'll be the moment I walk through the door only to realize he's no longer waiting for me with his usual barrage of meows that things will hit home.

In that moment I'm sure the butterflies will flutter..

Strobist Photography

Myself and local photographer Doug Reynolds are currently seeking a Photography enthusiast / Photographer to help out on set and even get in the action. Ideally, this person is looking to learn and progress in the world of Strobist Photography or Flash Photography. This is not a paying gig, it's just a chance for someone to get out there, pick up some knowledge, network, and eventually start crushing photos.

Myself and Doug are in the beginning stages of starting a Photography group in Anchorage. Essentially we want to provide a resource for amateur photographers (that's us) in Anchorage, Alaska to go to and get quality information. No secrets here...well other than my shooting locations, lol. We want to share how we did it, why we did it, and why we wouldn't do it again. Along the way, paying work does come down the tubes and as that works becomes an abundance you may end up catching the overflow.

What do you need? You need to have a passion for photography and a willingness to learn. A camera and laptop are always helpful but in the end just tools. If you are interested please drop me a line at livin_lush@yahoo.com or call @ 907.227.7790

Charles Tice | Photo Journal

Charles Tice | Taken at Kellers Custom Photolab| 2010

Greetings!
This is the first in hopefully a long series of posts. For those who do not know me, my name is Charles Tice. I reside in Anchorage Alaska. I'm starting this blog hopefully to inspire the journalistic side in me. It's been some time since I've written anything meaningful.

On the flip side, I am also a photographer, well more or less. I just love taking pictures. Originally I picked up the camera to endeavor into the world of photojournalism, but since have found my words not up to par with my imaging.

Well here's to change...
